It was a pleasure and a privilege to work alongside this great man for 7 years in the late 80’s and early 90’s. It was a time when Rovers’ success reached its zenith and Burnley’s plight its nadir. Humour abounded, but always with good grace. As a colleague, Hoppy epitomised the QEGS ethos. He was an excellent role model and was held in high esteem by teachers and pupils alike. Dave gave a lifetime of service to the school he loved and touched the lives of many. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
